La première fois que j'ai vu hubb surfer, c'était il y a une quinzaine d'années dans la vidéo FUEL de l'australien Chris Stroh (réalisateur entre autres de toutes les "underground tapes"), on le voyait coller des airs avec une board Toobs, je me souviens encore ado d'halluciner à cette époque sur l'amplitude de ses "airs" et de me dire que ça allait être ça le futur, l'après "Eppo";
On ne présente plus Jeffrey Dean Hubbard, 3 fois world champ IBA en 2006, 2009 et 2012 dont 4 fois vainqueur de la mythique épreuve de Pipeline, 2 fois à Arica et 2 fois à Zicatela dans des conditions incroyables, 8 fois vainqueur de l'USBA tour, pour faire simple c'est l'un des meilleurs "aerial masters" depuis ses débuts, son surf est bluffant tellement il va vite; et à 37 ans il continue toujours de progresser.
Il y a deux semaines après son retour d'Australie je lui ai demandé de répondre à quelques questions:

Wich template and core where you surfing for this IBA event? Do you sometime use different shapes depending Surfing conditions or depending the place you are in? in cold water you surf flex core like PE?
I was using my hubb edition template and testing our new quad core that we will be releasing in 2014.

With your little brother Dave you have created your own Company,, "hubboards" , you were thinking about this for a long Time? Where are they made? When Will you commercialize the boards? it will be possible to find them in europe?
We will be using Hoff distribution in Europe, they are made at the nick mez Indonesia factory

We just wanted to take control of our own destiny and make better boards an help make the sport better
I think it is hard but it is very rewarding and we must work harder an better to succeed
At 36 years old you Still are on top, pushing the bodyboard on best level in the World, are you only training by Surfing all conditions all Time or do you practise others sports?

We are in 2013, with economic crisis it is more and more difficult for little companies in bodyboarding to stay alive, which regard do you have on professional BodyBoarding if we compare situation now and 10 years ago?
What do you think about the "stone flip", type of double roll to flip that jake stone realised on video recently (and also on his heat for the last iba event)? are you working on new tricks recently?
I think this new move is great for the sport and I have been doing New different moves for a Long time now and I enjoy them a lot
I listen to A lot of different music all the time just depends on the mood. Music is so great for life.
Maybe I will come to France this year I hope
